I have to admit, I’m a sucker for box sets – it’s probably because I got my start in roleplaying with the Star Frontiers, Boot Hill, & Red Box D&D sets and the feel of those games was imprinted on my brain at an early age. That’s why I find myself drawn to the new Dragon Age RPG, despite the fact that I don’t have any real desire to play the game at this point. Of course, I could just get the game in pdf-form, but that’s not really going to do it for me in this case. It’s as if the game, with it’s low-page count, multiple books enclosed in a box, was engineered to trigger those regions of my cortex which have been hard-wired to respond to box sets.
