I thought Hard Boiled Cultures was excellent – it had plenty of useful advice for anyone looking to add a little more flavor & life to the 4E PC races. Some of their other products looked quite good and had received favorable reviews, though I didn’t purchase any of them since 4E is not really my cup of tea.
I suspect that was part of our problem: we wrote stuff that appealed to people, but many of those who it appealed to could not say that 4E appealed to them. Not a big part of the problem… but a part.
