Iron Game Chef (or just Game Chef) is an annual game design contest. Basically, a bunch of games enthusiasts try to design role playing games within a single week, using a list of pre-provided ingredients. This year marks the first with Jonathan Walton as the reigns as organiser.
I’ve decided I’m going to enter this year. I promised myself I was going to enter the last couple of years too but ended up put it off for various reasons. This year I feel if I announce my intention to compete to the whole world I’ll be less inclined to come up with any excuses not to.
Game Chef 2009 will starts on Monday, Aug 31, and unless the rules (which will be published this coming weekend) prohibit it I intend to keep people updated on my progress through this blog.
The 2009 Game Chef website isn’t available yet, so if you want to follow the progress at the moment the best place is the Yahoo group.

As it turns out the rules specifically require me to keep a dedicated blog purely for Game Chef related stuff, so I’ll be posting anything game chef related on that blog.
The game chef 2009 site is now up here: http://gamechef.wordpress.com/
and my Game Chef 2009 posts will go here: http://whirlygamechef.blogspot.com/
